Meet Theoda
Who’s behind the Vault? I’m Theoda Metcalf. I served 10 years in the United States Army. When I got out, I struggled to find a job. Then I went through a divorce, and my credit was destroyed. I was living in a rough neighborhood and going to school at the same time. Times were hard. But I didn’t quit — and I graduated.
The Comeback
Then I made up my mind. I pulled all three of my credit reports and started calling every creditor myself. I worked out deals, I made my payments, and I got the bad marks removed — one by one, bureau by bureau. No shortcuts. Just time, patience, and a game plan I stuck to.
And then the day came: I bought my own home. That photo is me, standing in it. After everything I had been through, standing in my own house was a dream come true. I really did it. And I did it without those rip-off “fix my credit” companies. They charge you a fortune to fix your credit — something you can do yourself.
The Key
Here is the
key to purchasing your own home: nobody needs to fix your credit for you. Fix it yourself — give it time, keep a game plan, and don’t quit. Your dream will come true too.
The Rule He Lives By
One more thing I learned: don’t try to keep up with the Joneses. Buy what you can afford, and buy when the time is right for you. Sometimes you give up a little today to build a lot tomorrow.
Why the Vault Exists
That’s why I built the Vault — to share what I learned and put real, useful tools in the hands of everyday people at prices they can afford. I’ve been where you are. I know the way out.
Your situation today doesn’t have to be your situation forever.
